Pandemic Wine paring – Zinfandel & Chili

Neal McMahonUncategorized

It’s been a while and a lot has happened in the last 7 months and like many of you 2020 can’t end quick enough. Let’s get back to some wine parings. “Winter Is Coming”

and chili will be a main stay. A Heavy Beef chili needs a new-world style full bodied reds.

My Keto Chili is not a overly spicy chili but a heavy chili non the less (recipe below)

I paired my Chili with Paso Robles “Double Black Zinfandel” (About 4.2 Carbs for 5oz glass) This Zin has some wonderful fruit, Nice taste of dark cherry’s & dark fruit and vanilla notes on the palate and a wonderful smooth finish with light tannins and spice . At around $13-14 a bottle is a real bargain.

Paired wonderfully with my Chili and should pair well with any chili. This is also great Zinfandel for sipping. Let me know what you think of this Zinfandel if you grab a bottle.
