Max
Purchased this bottle of MAX’s from Costco Melbourne Australia for $26 ($21 us)
Penfolds Max’s wines are multi-regional blends using grapes from the McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and Coonawarra. 2015 Blend: 70% Shiraz, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.
My thoughts, as you cans see in the photos this wine out of the bottle as This deep magenta-hued look to the edge of the class. You can smell the blackberries right from the word go. and a hint of pepper.
Its Full bodied but soft tannins and very long finish. I loved this wien right out of the bottle I wished I had let it air for an hour or so.
I found this wine drinkable right now but would leave it for another couple years.
Will buy this again at any chance.
Why this wine is called MAX’s
A little about the MAX’s wines are based on Max Schubert AM (9 February 1915 – 6 March 1994) was a pioneering Australian winemaker who is best known as the creator of Grange Hermitage. Schubert was included in the Sydney Morning Herald’s 100 most influential Australians of the century, which was published in 2001.
