Our annual Christmas Open House of course brings out some vintage wines from my cellar. On Sat Dec 15th we will be opening up a slew of wines staring back in the mid 1990s through to 2013. I will post ratings and thoughts once the tastings are complete.
Pièce de résistance of the night was a forgotten about bottle of 2001 Marquis Phillips Integrity Shiraz. Total mind blowing wine in 2018.
The wine 100% Shiraz had a beautiful inky/deep purple color with a still great smell of blackberries on the nose. This was a beautiful well balanced wine with soft sweet tannins. One of the best wines I have ever tasted.
Robert Parker rated this wine a 99
worth finding a bottle if you can find one.
Glad i could share it with a couple friends.
