Tasting Aberlour’s 12 year old single malt Scotch Whisky

Aberlour’s 12 year old single malt Scotch Whisky

What I loved about this Whisky was the subtle  smoky notes and mild pepperiness.

Not being a big Scotch fan I really liked this scotch right off  bat. I kind of blind tested this with my Australian Brother in-law (his bottle) and right from the first sniff I though I was about to taste an Irish Whisky (sorry my scotch aficionados). Aberlour has a really nice rich fruitiness to itself and warms beautifully when lingering in your mouth.
I am not sure if I can buy this in the US but on my next trip to London I certainly will be purchasing a bottle of this very fine tasting Whisky.

From the Aberlour website
All our single malts are made with the best local ingredients of barley and soft water from nearby mountain, Ben Rinnes. First, our expertly crafted new spirit is usually matured for a minimum of 12 years in the finest, hand-picked Oloroso Sherry butts before spending at least another 12 years in American Oak barrels. It’s this double maturation which subtly marries the characteristics of each cask to create a truly rich and rewardingly complex range of single malts.
